Our client is transforming commercial real estate financing. Based in New York, they built an AI-powered platform that connects brokers and borrowers with the most suitable lenders for each deal, and automates the most time-consuming steps of the financing process. They are the first company tackling this at scale, backed by leading venture capital firms and financial institutions.

The challenge

• Build the technology that connects the Commercial Real Estate financing market.
• Automate complex workflows that traditionally require a lot of human intervention.
• Develop solutions based on AI agents and LLMs that take part in real business processes.
• Work on a product platform with multiple services and real architecture and scalability challenges.

The role

We are looking for an exceptionally senior individual contributor, close to Staff level, with real technical ownership. You will work directly with the CTO, leading architecture and implementation decisions across the platform, from whiteboard to production.

• Own the design and evolution of the core Flask API, the AI Service and other FastAPI microservices.
• Lead technical decisions on architecture, system design and trade-offs, and be able to explain and defend them.
• Design and ship AI-powered features (LLMs, agents) that run in production as part of real business workflows.
• Set the bar for code quality, testing, CI/CD and engineering practices.
• Mentor teammates through code reviews and technical discussions.
• Help recruit and interview future engineers.

Tech stack

Python, Flask, FastAPI, GraphQL and Postgres on the backend; React.js on the frontend.

What we are looking for

• A track record of demonstrable impact: you played a key role in relevant products or projects, and you can explain what you built, which decisions you made and what results they had.
• Strong technical ownership and autonomy: you led technical decisions, not just took part in complex projects.
• Deep experience building Python APIs with Flask or FastAPI, and designing distributed systems and microservices.
• Intensive use of AI in your own development workflow, plus experience building AI-powered products or features in production.
• Experience in product companies or startups, ideally in fast-growing environments.
• B.S. in Computer Science or equivalent experience.

Bonus points

• Experience with GraphQL.
• Experience with systems that handle complex workflows.
• Previous experience in a high-growth company.
