As a lead full stack engineer at LiveStories, you will be building highly visible product features of the LiveStories portfolio for civic data exploration, visualization and publishing, as well as managing a team of 3-5 passionate engineers doing the same. This is a hands-on role where you will drive the team to turn apparently complex problems into intuitive user experiences, always seeking the most simple and maintainable implementation. Your area of responsibility will go from customer-facing features, performance/scalability issues and building technical infrastructure. You will interact frequently with management, customer support and sales to ensure full alignment of the features you own. This is a full-time position and you will be able to work from any location of your choice.

  • You have a proven track record of leading architecture and development of complex large-scale software systems
  • You are a very hands-on coder and can and lead by example to demonstrate what software craftsmanship is all about.
  • You're a developer who thinks like an end user, yet you understand that building simple building blocks is the ultimate recipe to build scalable software solutions at a fast pace.
  • Ultimately, you want to be part of something big than software and make a durable change.
  • You have a BS Degree in computer science with strong knowledge in CS fundamentals, algorithms & data structures.

Technologies you master:
  • Javascript inside out, in the backend with Node.js, in the front-end with ReactJS.
  • Postgres, Elasticsearch
  • Visualization and mapping packages such as D3js, Mapbox or others
  • Deployment tools, such as Webpack and alike.
  • Cloud infrastructure, especially AWS
